General Information

*All events on the premises are alcohol free.*

*Plans have been made for the 64rd annual fair to be held at the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center on September 13- 16, 2017.  It is hoped that each section of the county will be represented by exhibits this year.

*All exhibits must be entered by 9:00 p.m., livestock will need to be entered by 8:00pm on Tuesday, September 12. Space arrangements will be made by Fair Advisors. Exhibit & Educational booths may begin Monday Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. Individual exhibits may begin Tuesday Sept. 12 at 9 a.m. A Fair Advisor will be present to receive entries, place and arrange all exhibits.  Exhibits are to remain in place until Sunday Sept. 17 at 2:00 p.m.

*Judging in all departments will begin promptly at 9:00am, September 13. The fair will be officially opened Wednesday, September 13, at 1:00pm with the Opening Ceremony. 

*The fair will close to the public on Saturday, September 16 at 9:00pm. Sunday's events will consist of the Horse Show only.

*Individual exhibits and booths must be removed from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday September 17 or Monday September 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Exhibits may be donated to the Harvest Sale which will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday September 18, in the D building of the Fair Grounds.

Rules of Macon County Fair

1. Livestock will be exhibited during the week of the fair. Exhibitors will be expected to furnish feed for their livestock and be responsible for their care.

2. No animal will be allowed to run at large on the grounds nor will any hitching be allowed except at places regularly allotted for the purpose.

3. Every animal or article on the grounds will be under the control of the Fair Association, and while every precaution will be taken for the safekeeping of same, the Association will in no way be responsible for any loss, damage, or accident that may occur.

4. Any person or persons exhibiting animals or articles who publicly express disapproval on the grounds of the decision of the judges, or who by act of interference shall be guilty of conduct unbecoming to an exhibitor shall not be permitted to compete again for premiums at any fair of this Association.

5. All animals exhibited must be free of disease. If animals are in question of health as determined by veterinarian they must be removed from the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center.

6. All privileges and concessions people, together with their employees, assistants and helpers, must obey the rules or any other specifications of the Association and refusal or neglect will forfeit all rights they may have by venture of such privileges or concessions.

7. All livestock must be entered on Tuesday September 12 and left in the livestock barn until Sunday September 17.

8. The Macon County Fairgrounds are to be Alcohol-Free at all times.

9. Pets are not allowed on the Fairgrounds with the exception of  Wednesday September 13 for the 7pm Pet Show. Pets entered in the Pet Show are not allowed in buildings or barns only designated area for Pet Show. 

 10. Exhibitors must be Macon County Residents (See Heifer Show rules for exception)
